Alaska Walrus Ivory Handle Ulu Knife
This authentic Alaskan Native ulu knife was handcrafted by artist Leroy Barlip III. He was born in Glennallen, Alaska and raised in the Indian village of Gulkana. His Athabascan mother passed along an appreciation for Native art and crafts. He Combines art and craftsmanship for a beautiful but useful tool. This knife features a handle made of walrus ivory and the base is caribou antler. Alaska Natives hunt caribou and walrus for food, they use the tusks, antlers, hides and other parts so that there is very little waste when finished. This knife can be displayed in your kitchen when not in use. Each of these knives are one of a kind, and since the handles are a natural product, it will vary slightly in thickness and color.
