Alaska Moose Antler Scrimshawed Knife
This authentic Alaskan Native ulu knife was handcrafted by artist Leroy Barlip III. He was born in Glennallen, Alaska and raised in the Indian village of Gulkana. His Athabascan mother passed along an appreciation for Native art and crafts. He Combines art and craftsmanship for a beautiful but useful tool. This knife features a handle made of Caribou antler with walrus ivory caps on each end as decoration. Alaska Natives hunt caribou for food, they also use the antler, hide and other parts so that there is very little waste when finished. This knife comes with an antler stand so you can display it in your kitchen when not in use. Each of these knives are one of a kind, and since the handles are a natural product, it will vary slightly in thickness and color. The scrimshaww is done by Dennis Sims of Houston, Alaska.
