This is the 2012 Official Alaska Railroad medallion, we mint these in bronze, silver, and gold relief. This years design shows the engine after coming out of the tunnel between Anchorage and Whittier. We have been designing and minting medallions for the Alaska Railroad since 1991, each year there is a new design.
